Copper pipe, thread, silk
and paper cherry blossom, 2000, 100
x 200 x 300cm
Commissioned as a temporary site-specific
work by the Aspex Gallery, Portsmouth as part of ‘Nothing But the Truth’.
Constructed
on site at the gallery, the work uses shadows cast by the blossom
petals to delineate a map of the cherry orchards thought to once
exist at the location, temporarily restoring what was once made
flat for mapping to three dimensions.
